Leah Craig, Bar Manager

Taking a seat at Honeywood’s gorgeous bar is probably our favorite way to enjoy a casual meal there.  Because that’s where you’ll find Leah Craig, Honeywood’s bar manager, who’s been behind the bar since day one.

Leah grew up in Midway just behind the Holly Hill Inn and made her restaurant debut at 14 years old, washing dishes at Darlin’ Jean’s Apple Cobbler Café.  She paused her hospitality career while pursuing two degrees at Bellarmine University (piano pedagogy and psychology!) and joined our family when we opened Honeywood in 2017.

Not surprisingly, given Honeywood’s fast pace, Leah likes to spend her downtime enjoying wine, reading, thrifting, and binge-watching TV.

Her menu favorites include the Speed Racer cocktail (a playful riff on a whiskey sour), Chef Cody’s beet salad special and the catfish plate.  If asked for a wine recommendation, Leah always suggests the Mountain Tides Petite Syrah, especially with Honeywood’s steak Delmonico.

And she may be too modest to tell you but Leah even has a cocktail named after her.  Created by Leslee Macpherson, our goddess of libations, Leah’s Pinky is a seasonal variation on the French 75, a cocktail loved for its classy, yet potent charm.  Because Leah, like her namesake, doesn’t mess around.
